Race Options

From 2k to 21k, There's a Race Option For Everyone

Half Marathon | 21.1km
Start Time:7:30 a.m.

The Half Marathon course begins on fully closed King Edward Parade and follows the exact path later used by the 10k race - out to the turnaround north of Narrow Neck Beach then back via Cheltenham, North Head and the Navy Museum. After completing your first lap, you'll continue past the race site (extra cheers thrown in for free!) and out on the shell path along the seawall to the navy base. Drink in the city skyline and then turn at the boat sheds and return to the race site (more cheers!) before looping back onto the course for your second lap. This extra 1.1km means that as you complete your second lap, you'll turn directly into Windsor Reserve and make your glorious finish.

START: King Edward Parade

FINISH: Windsor Reserve

10k Classic
Start Time:9:00 a.m.

Starting within a total road closure on historic King Edward Parade, the 10k Classic then turns north on Tainui Road. At Vauxhall Rd, the road is closed in one direction for participants heading north, with a wide footpath for the return journey. Past Fort Takapuna and stunning Narrow Neck Beach to the turnaround point before heading south again. This time, a detour takes you up the hill to North Head, where you can enjoy amazing views of the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland City. After a brief detour to the Navy Museum, its a flat and fast blast along the sea front to the finish line in Windor Reserve.

START: King Edward Parade

FINISH: Windsor Reserve

5k Fun Run & Walk
Start Time:9:30 a.m.

As 5k fun runs go, they don't get any better than this. Our 5k course is held entirely within the full road closure. It begins with a sea front blast along King Edward Parade and out to the heritage homes of Cheltenham. The middle section of the course is dominated by the steady climb up North Head and the stunning views of the harbour and city as you circumnavigate the head. On your way back to the finish, take a detour through the elegant grounds of the Navy Museum at Torpedo Bay. The shell path on the promenade then leads you back to Windsor Reserve in the heart of Devonport village and your glorious finish!

START: King Edward Parade

FINISH: Windsor Reserve

2k Kids' Dash
Start Time:10:30 a.m.

Kids ... start your engines! What a great course for the kids' dash with all the thrill of starting under the same arch as the adults and charging along the fully closed King Edward Parade. The kids tear off towards the Navy Museum at Torpedo Bay, turning just after Cambridge Terrace. On the way back, they join the shell path and follow the adults into the finish line around the harbour side promenade. Then it's all guns blazing for the big finish down then chute in Windsor Reserve. What a thrill!
